Well yippee! I just got the call that I get another snowday tomorrow! It is really freakin' cold here, and many of my kids don't have appropriate outer wear and they do walk. Poor Abby went out to potty this morning and she was hopping around all funny because her paws were cold. I had to go get her and bring her in because she wans't sure what to do!

In knitting news, I did finish the body of my Wicked sweater today! Here's a lovely mirror photo. I'm really happy with the fit, I did 2 extra decreases and no increases.The pocket was fun and looks so cute. I need to finish sewing the top of it on. Now onto the sleeves!I am going to make the long sleeve version. If i would make it again, I would make it one size smaller.

Felting is good (sometimes)

OK so I'm a dork, here's a self portrait of me in my lovely pre felted bucket hat from Bonne Marie. Anyway I hope it fits better after I felt it! It was a super easy knit and I did it in a few days. Now to finish my scarf so that I am ready for the bone chilling weather coming up next week! (highs of like 8 degrees) I have to felt at my mom's though, because I have a front loader and it's really impossible for me to felt anything in it. I've tried.

I've also still been working along on my Wicked. It's really fitting nice. I'm much further along than this picture shows. I'm about 8 inches along below the armholes. I added 2 extra decreases and I'm not planning on adding in increases. I probably could have gone down one more size. I tend to make things to big...I need to start making my patterns a little smaller.

IN Quilty news, I have 2 more snowflakes to applique and I've decided on fabric for my new (due in April) niece!

quilting today

Today I finished a quilt! Yippee! It is a block of the month I did at my local quilting shop. I only have like 4 or 5 more BOMs to finish! (Not counting the other 5 million or so other projects)Anyway I finished quilting it and put the binding on today. It will be great in my family room this fall, whenever the cools down.(It’s about 90 today) I have to get DH to take some pictures so I can post them later!

I also went to the grocery to get Kool aid for my adventures in yarn dyeing I’m planning on trying tomorrow! I was excited the Kool-Aid was on sale…20 for $2 whoo who! So I think I’m going to try that tomorrow.

My first post

HI! Well this is my first post. I'm pretty new the blogging world but enjoy reading others blogs so much that I decided to start my own. I've been knitting for a little over a year and a half. I've been quilting for over 10 years. But I just love the portability of knitting I take it everywhere I go. You can't do that too much with quilting. (lugging a big sewing machine and all the tools that go along with quilting just wouldn't be easy!) But hey I can throw my yarn, needles, and a few accessories into a bag and off I go!

Right now I'm working on several (ie toooo many projects)I need to make myself finish one! Ha ha. NO really I am trying to make myself start finishing a few things before I can cast on new ones. I get inspired by how much some of the other bloggers accomplish! One of the many projects I'm working on right now is Tempting II from www.knitty.com with the Sexy knitters Club I can't belief how great some of the sweaters are coming out! I'm still worried about my gauge so with a few inches done I decided to start the Somewhat Cowl from Knit and Tonic a former sexy knit.

Well I guess I've rambled on enough for now...
